Sherald Glenwood Edwards
September 8, 1936 ~ November 16, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years OldSherald Glenwood Edwards, 81, of Scott Depot passed away on November 16, 2017 at
his home. Born September 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond and
Dorothy Bird Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his brother, Roger Edwards.
Sherald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vangie Fields Edwards; two sons,
Mike(Kim), Kenton(Tammy) and daughter, Lisa(Steve) Spaulding all of Hurricane;
sister, Janice(George) Edwards Hinkle of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren,
Chris(Jeni), Casey, Cody, Kyle, Amy, Stephanie; great grandchildren, Jake,
Kalea, Miles and Jaycee.
Sherald was retired from Columbia Gas Transmission. He was a 1956 graduate of
Hurricane High School, a member of the Nitro Antique Car Club and Putnam Masonic
Lodge 139. When his children were growing up, Sherald was active in Boy Scouts
and Little League baseball. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard 150th
during the Berlin Crisis.
As a young man, Sherald always had a passion for cars. That passion remained
all of his life. He enjoyed going to car shows and showing his 1952 Ford Model
Custom. Although, he loved his cars, his greatest love was for his family.
Funeral service will be a 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Allen
Funeral Home Hurricane. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
