Elsie (Garrett) Turner

Elsie Garrett Turner, 87, of Vienna, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, surrounded by her family.  

Elsie was born on May 14, 1930 to the late Eustice and Mary Garrett of Hurricane, WV.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Dale Turner, her son, Keith Turner, three brothers, Quinton, Wilford and Milford Garrett, and two sisters, Elezene Martin and Rena Cooper.   

She is survived by her sister, Emogene Freeman of Hurricane, daughter Rebecca Moses of Hurricane, daughter-in-law Karen Enoch Turner and Bill Lee of Vienna, three grandchildren, Russell Moses and wife of Cincinnati, OH, Kevin Moses and wife of McKinney, TX, and Amy Moses of Hurricane, and four great-grandchildren.  

Elsie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all those she knew. In life, she loved traveling to Florida every winter with Dale, spending time with her family, and donating time to her church.  She was a 40-plus year member of the Vienna Baptist Church, where she donated much of her time in volunteer service.  

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Broadmoore Assisted Living facility in Hurricane for the loving care they provided to Elsie for the last year and a half.  

Graveside service will be Saturday, September 23 at 1:00pm at the Valley View Memorial Park in Hurricane, WV. With Dennis Pratt of the Vienna Baptist Church will officiate.   

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate a day of your time in service to your church, community or charity of your choice in order to spread the spirit of giving.
