William "Bill" Bird Obituary

William "Bill" Bird, 75, of Scott Depot, West Virginia passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026.
Bill was born on July 1, 1950 in Canada, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy
(Keith) Chandler; his father, Creed Bird; his sister, Teresa Crouch; his brother-in-law, Charles
Johnson; his grandson, Michael Flinn; and his nephew, Scottie Alford.
Bill was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, and Beni Kedem Shrine. He was a devoted
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy was
spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patti; his children, Brandi (Rodney) Moore, Stephen White, Justin
White, Chris (Stephanie) Bird, and Tracy (James) Hall. He also leaves behind his cherished
grandchildren, Sierra (Dennis) Gibson, Chase (Caitlyn) Moore, Drew and Jacob White, Colton Bird,
Lindsay (Ben) DeWess, Lauren (Dustin) Huffman, Emily (Jalen) Wayt, Matthew (Ally) Hall, LeighAnn Flinn, and his
beloved great-grandchildren, Cameron and Dawson Gibson, Skylar Moore, Oaklynn Bird, and
Theodore Brown, Jack and Wren Pursely, Kai DeWees, Katelynn, Carter, and Zander Shamblen,
and Emilynn Wayt. He is also survived by his sisters, Patty (Roger) Wood and Kathy (Jackie)
Johnston, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bill loved spending time on the family farm at Turkey Creek, where he enjoyed hunting, riding
side-by-sides, and making memories outdoors. He especially treasured family camping trips and
any opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His kind
heart, unwavering love for his family, and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures will be remembered
by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 2837 Main Street, Hurricane, West Virginia on June
15, 2026. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with public visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hubbard Hospice
House in memory of Bill.
Though he will be deeply missed, Bill's legacy of love, family, and friendship will live on in the hearts
of those who knew and loved him.
Thank you to Bill's niece, Heather Highley, for making the floral arrangement. He loved you dearly.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
