Stephen Robert Snell

On February 4, 2023 Stephen Robert Snell of Culloden (68) passed surrounded by his loving family after suffering from a long illness. Stephen was born January 22, 1955 to Robert and Dolores Snell in Schenectady, New York. After Stephen graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1973 he completed a 2 year machinist apprentice program for General Electric. He became employed by General Electric as a Turbine Coordinator for numerous years. He then later became employed by AEP as a Turbine Coordinator and later as a Supervisor of Turbine Coordination until his retirement in 2019.

In his past time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was an avid fan of football and basketball and his favorite teams were the New York Giants, West Virginia Mountaineers and Marshall Thundering Herd, but his most favorite thing to do was to attend his grandkids cheerleading, track meets, horseback riding, dance recitals and soccer games.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father Robert Snell, mother Dolores Snell, brother Lawrence Snell and nephew Douglas Snell. He is survived by his loving wife Bernadette married in 1976, sister Sharon Yawman (James), sister in-law Susan Jones, daughter Rachel Young (Eric), and his son Jeffrey Snell (Carla). Also, by his grandchildren Kyleigh Snell (Will Adkins), Drew Young, Caydance Snell, Alli Young and Crews Snell. He also had many nieces and nephews and a special thank you to his close friend Bob Spencer.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane, WV. Visitors may pay their respects from 12:00-1:00. Pastor John Sauvage will conduct a service following visitation and a small ceremony at Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the American Heart Association.
