Shellie (Allen) Gross

Shellie Lynn (Allen) Gross, 65, passed on September 19 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Wanda Allen, and brother in laws, David Morton and Phillip Gross. 

Shellie retired from decades of work at Pro Eyes Optometry in 2020. She loved photography, traveling, and having a good time. She never met a person that was a stranger. She included everybody she could and made them feel special. She had a personality and sense of humor that could light up a room. 

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, David. Children Ashley (Jason) Dempsey, Kayla (Andrew) Bethel, and Patrick (Erica Black) Gross. Sister Daryl Lene (Mark) Brown. Granddaughters Addilyn Gross, Ava, Peyton, and Madison Dempsey. Mother in law Barbara Gross. Brother in law Tim Gross and sister in law Joanna Morton. Her niece Hillary (Reid) Adams and Clark Brown. A huge group of friends who she loved so much. And her dog, Lucy. 

Visitation with family and friends will take place on Sunday, September 22 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane from 1-3 p.m. with an informal celebration of life to follow. 

The family would like to tremendously thank the Cabell Huntington Hospital 4th Floor (especially Kim and Dave) for taking such good care of Shellie and the family during these difficult times.
