Sharon Kay (Powers) Larck

Sharon Kay Larck (Gram), 83 of Hurricane, WV passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Born October 26, 1939, in Parkersburg WV.  She was the daughter of the late Russel O. Sr. and Garnet C. Powers (Meemie). In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her loving Aunt Lucille C. Duvall and sister Sharla Rae Stacy. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Larck, her brother Russel O Powers Jr. (Darlene) children David Jay Hayes (Sheila), Andrea Kay Hayes, Jill Rae Hayes, and Joy Lynn Bias (Fred) and her stepdaughter, Ladonn Larck. Sharon leaves behind eight grandchildren: Robert Redden, Leah Redden, DJ Hayes, Joshua Hood, Jeremy Farmer, Jesse Hood, Jackson Bias, and Justin Bias. Others left to cherish her memory include 3 step-grandchildren: Catherine, Ashley, and Mark; 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and cousins. Sharon’s first-born great-grandchild Abby Redden was very loyal, supportive, and dedicated to her Gram. Sharon was a proud graduate of Tyler County High School class of 1957 with many accolades. While Sharon worked hard as a younger woman, she spent much of her life as a dedicated homemaker. She was a loving wife, an amazing mother, and a devoted grandmother. Her love grew with each child born into our family. She instilled in us an immense sense of love, dedication, and determination. We owe her so much for continuing to love and support us through our hardest times. Sharon was a true matriarch who fully embodied the meaning of family. While we feel her loss deeply, her family will ensure that her legacy lives on, and we will take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones.

A private graveside service with burial will be held at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Hurricane WV on Monday August 28, 2023, at 1 PM, with her brother officiating. Services are being organized by Allen Funeral Home. Online condolences and tributes may be left at allenfuneralhomewv.com.
