Ruby Kaye (Beaver) Sovine

Ruby Kaye Beaver Sovine took her first breath on earth on October 12, 1932, and her last on December 14, 2018, when the angels of God ushered her into the heavenly kingdom of God.

She was born at the home of her late parents, Hubert L. and Rinda Lunsford Beaver, on Tackett’s Branch, Hurricane, WV. Ruby was the seventh of eight siblings: Jane, Birchell, Junior, Harry, and Wilson who have preceded her in death. 

In September 1952 she married Iman Clay Sovine and resided in the Hurricane area during her life. Iman passed away In September 1971, as a result of a violent car wreck. They had one son William A. Sovine who was born December 1961 and passed away December 31, 2012.

Ruby was a homemaker and enjoyed the life of wife, mother, and assisting with the care of her aging parents. 

Her dedication to her church and the work of her Lord Jesus Christ was her foremost passion and love. She was a teacher, church clerk, treasurer, and young people’s program coordinator for a multitude of church activities for First Church of God, Hurricane. She remained involved in church activities until her health severely declined in 2010. 

As her health declined, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter-in-law Robin Sovine, with whom she made her home. She remained at home until her passing and was assisted in her latter years by care giver Krista, who is appreciated very deeply for her loving care. 

Ruby is survived by her brother Clinton “Bud” Beaver (Xlyphia), daughter-in-law Robin Sovine, grand-children Richard (Ashley) Noon, Patrick (Kristina) Noon, Jennifer (Justin) Seabolt, and great-grand-daughter Madison. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ilene Beaver, and Alice Beaver, brother-in-law Dempsey Sovine and many loving nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her canine “buddy” Moose.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all of Ruby’s friends, Dr. Saxe for many years of faithfully attending Ruby; for the care of HospiceCare of WV., Hospice RN Kim, and Karen Johnson and staff of Putnam Aging for their care and assistance.

Service will be held Monday, December 17, 2018, with viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 and the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Harold Richards conducting the services. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial, Hurricane. We are grateful to Allen Funeral Home for their handling the services of Ruby with honor and dignity.
