Phyllis Joanna Bartlett

Phyllis Joanna (Mann, Martin) Bartlett, aged 87, passed peacefully with family at her side on December 26, 2021 in Hurricane, WV. She was born June 25th,1934 in Geneva, Ohio and was a long time resident of Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was a 1949 graduate of Madison Grade School on Wheeling Island and a 1952 Graduate of Wheeling Highschool where she attended Secretarial classes. She continued her studies in 1977 at West Virginia Northern Community College. Phyllis was a life long learner and went on to take adult education classes at Wheeling Park High School.

Phyllis worked at many places throughout the Wheeling area and later in Columbus, Ohio where she managed apartments and office buildings.

She loved horses and participated and won many equestrian ribbons and titles in the 70’s. She enjoyed all animals, and was a gifted painter.

But who she loved most was her dear grandchildren Lily Martin of Hurricane, WV and Taylor Jones-Martin of South Charleston, WV. She is also survived by her son Bruce (Becky Baller) Martin of Hurricane, WV and Doug Martin of Wheeling, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Mary Arnetta (Marsh) Mann and late Harold C. Mann, both of Wheeling, WV.

A Celebration of life will be held at Allen Funeral home, 2837 Main St. Hurricane, WV 25526 at 1pm, Tuesday, January 4th, 2022.
