“Saints live well and they die well.” And so it was with our dear daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and most importantly, a bright beacon for Jesus Christ!
Linda Hodges, age 64, of Hurricane, West Virginia, passed away in her sleep on October 2, 2024. She was born on May 25, 1960 and dedicated her life to spreading love and warmth to everyone around her. Linda married her best friend, Daniel Hodges in 1991 and shared 33 loving years in matrimony. Linda is survived by her two brothers, Tom and Mike Griffith, and her sister, Diane Heck. She had one son, Russell Morrison (wife, Stephanie) and was a proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Melody, Shaun, Dominick, and Cameron.
Linda graduated from Barboursville High School in 1979, and went on to become an active member of many groups and organizations. Besides her church family, Linda’s extended family was the Putnam County WV Republican Women as she served in diverse positions of Secretary and Corresponding Secretary (Outreach). She was also a member of the Hurricane Civic Chorus under the direction of Dr. Ilse Long.
Linda did not stop there. She was also very active with King’s River groups and Community Bridge. If all of this was not enough, in her free time, you might find her making Linda’s Originals Jewelry and more.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family, friends, and County.
A Celebration to the life of Linda will be held at King’s River Worship Center in St. Albans on Tuesday, October 8, at 12:00pm with Pastor Chris Kimbro and Pastor Debbie Deweese officiating. Family and friends can pay their respects two hours prior to the service starting at 10:00 am.
Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane is honored to be assisting the Hodges family.
