Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church has been the Lilly’s home church for 55 years where Karen was a devoted and compassionate member of United Methodist Woman. Over the years, she has served the church and our community in many capacities some of which include Church Historian, United Methodist Women, Women’s Club, she started the Easter Egg Program, a leader in the Harrah Symphonic Organ Committee, Woman of the Year for Putnam County, Friends of Fellowship Sunday School Class, member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for City Hall from 1974 as Clerk and she retired in 2005 as City Manager. She had too many accomplishments for us to list them all.
Karen was a loving, devoted, generous, classy and kind woman. She was a friend to all and enemy to none. She was always ready with a word of encouragement or a hug to lift people up. She will truly and deeply be missed by those who were blessed to know her
Karen also made beautiful purses to sell at the United Methodists Women Fall Bazaar. If you are blessed to own one of her purses, it would be nice to wear it to her memorial on March 1 @ 1:00 at Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church. Gather of family and friends will be at 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service.
