Joyce Ann Holley (nee Stanley), aged 89, passed away on October 31, 2024, in Hurricane, West Virginia. Born on May 23, 1935, in Kayford, West Virginia, to Lonnie and Kathryn Stanley, Joyce was a cherished member of her community and a beloved figure in the Putnam County School system where she worked for many years as an aide. Her compassion and warmth made her a surrogate grandmother to many students, enriching their lives with her kindness and wisdom.
Joyce is survived by a loving family: her husband, Joseph M. Holley; her daughter, Malinda A. Shanklin (David); her sons, Bradley J. Holley and Mark M. Holley (Terri); her grandchildren, Clifton D. Shanklin (Alyson), Adam M. Holley (Jenny), Tracy N. Garrett (Jason), Nicholas Holley, and Chloe M. Ashton (Hunter); and her great-grandchildren, Bryce M. Pfeiff, Makenzy A. Shanklin, Annabelle G. Garrett, Haley
N. Shanklin, Elliana F. Garrett, and Barrett M. Holley. She also leaves behind two brothers and one sister.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Kathryn Stanley, five brothers, and two sisters.
Joyce's life was a testament to the power of nurturing and love. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Monday, November 4, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Holley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 til 12 prior to the service.
