Joshua L Armstrong

Joshua Lee Armstrong, age 36, of Hurricane, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 6, 2026, after a long illness. Born on June 29, 1989, in Morgantown, WV, to Mary and Tim Merritt, Joshua was recently engaged to Haylei Jordan. He found joy in fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and dogs, and working as a groundskeeper at Sleepy Hollow.

Joshua will be reunited with his beloved puppy Lille, his grandmother Bess, grandfather Victor, and grandparents Roger, and Charolette, and uncle Ron

He is survived by his fiancée Haylei Jordan, parents Mary and Tim Merritt, brothers Kenneth (KJ), Armstrong (Kayla) of Salt Rock, Jake Merritt of Wayne County, JR Thorne of Michigan, grandparents,  James & Edna Armstrong, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly: Waylon, Sutton, Patsy, Sadie, Josie, Noa, McKenna, Caiden, Aleigha, Bryson. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law Teresa and David Myers, with whom he shared a special bond, aunt and uncle Janie and Emery Muncy, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the Home Health workers, Hospice workers, doctors, nurses, and friends who provided support and care during this difficult time.

A celebration of Joshua’s life will be held at a later date.
