Franklin D Elswick, 89, of Hurricane, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024. He was a good Christian man and died peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was a retired truck driver for Kroger after 20 years of service. Dee enjoyed the outdoors, cutting firewood, tractors and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed and loved by those left behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nash and Slyvia Elswick, brothers, Nash Elswick Jr. and Robert Elswick, sister, Shelvia Elswick, son, Timothy Knight, grandson, Jason Cunningham. Son-in-laws Cliff Cunningham and Phillip Stanley and mother-in-law Virginia Bailey
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Rosemary Bailey Elswick, daughters, Sherry Minks (Eric) of St. Louis MO., Joanie Cunningham of Hurricane, and Susan Stanley of North Carolina, sons, Frankie Elswick (Patricia) of California, John Nash Elswick (Donna) of Hurricane, 13 Grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and extended family.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Matthews officiating, Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park. Pallbearer’s will be his grandsons. Visitation will be 6 til 8 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Allen Funeral Home.
