Emogene Freeman

Emogene Garrett Freeman, 99 of Hurricane went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2023 in the Hubbard Hospice House. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane.

Born June 14, 1924 to the late Eustace and Mary Pate Garrett. She was  preceded in death by 3 brothers Quentin Garrett, Milford Garrett and Wilford Garrett; 3 sisters Elezine Martin, Elsie Turner and Rena Cooper, and a step-grandson.

She Is survived by daughter Sandra Sovine of Hurricane, WV; son Gregory Sovine (Peggy) of McKinney, TX; Grandsons Joshua Sovine (Andrea) of south Charleston, Shawn Sovine (Alexandra) of Hurricane, Nicolas Sovine of Nitro and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Stepsons Dennis Freeman, Keith Freeman (Vicki). Also one step-grandson.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home 2837 Main Street, Hurricane WV, with Jerry Losh officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Mem Park.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service.
