Donald “Buck” Torman, 83, of Hurricane, WV passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Donald was born at home on June 27, 1939 to the late Frank and Lucy Torman.
Donald was an operator at the WV American Water Company and retired after 43 years of service. Donald was a graduate of Hurricane High School and a Christian who faithfully attended West Virginia Home Mission Church in Nitro until his health no longer permitted. But Donald’s passion was hunting, gardening, and fishing anywhere he could find a hole of water. Donald held a WV state record for a catfish for many years.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucy Torman. Donald is survived by his wife, Emily, children Kim (Rusty) Parsons, Teresa (Tim) Persinger, Eric (Michelle) Torman, of Hurricane; sisters Virginia Roberts, Deloris (Kermit) Wood and Debbie (Mike) Romine; grandchildren Ashley Parsons, Lindsey Huffman (CJ), Aaron Persinger, and Ethan Torman, and great-grandchildren Luke and Noah Huffman with baby sister on the way. Thank you to Dad’s compassionate caregivers, Tonya Frye, Liz Saunders and hospice personnel. A very special thank you to his dedicated life-long friend, hunting and fishing buddy Virgil Adkins for his faithful visits.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane on Friday, January 6 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Pastors Adam Null and Joey Scarberry will officiate a life celebration service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Mt.
