On Saturday, July 18, 2020, Deborah Joan (Rogers) (Sigmon) Connelly left this world to rest with her loving heavenly father, Jesus Christ. Joan was born March 9, 1948, to Herman D. and Maryetta (Russell) Rogers. Upon graduation from St. Albans High School in 1966, she went to work at the old St. Albans Greyhound bus station; then, a little later, she went to work at the old Powell’s Drug Store on Main Street in St. Albans. After working there for three years, she married her loving husband, David E. Sigmon, then moved to Columbus, Georgia, for 19 months while her husband completed his U.S. Army service following the Vietnam War. May 13, 1984 Joan graduated from West Virginia State College; then later began her employment with FritoLay, Inc.
Joan is preceded in death by her loving parents, Herman D. and Maryetta (Russell) Rogers, her first husband David E. Sigmon, and her second husband William J. Connelly, her sweet brother Herman G. (Jerry) Rogers, plus many more loving family members.
Joan is survived by her most-caring sister Drema K. Rogers Justice (Raymond Carl), her two daughters Angela N. (Sigmon) Meinke and Colleen Annette (Sigmon) Womack (Jeff); her sweet granddaughter Samantha N. Womack and her three loving grandsons Caleb A. Meinke, Levi A. Meinke and David Womack.
Per Joan’s request a funeral service will not be conducted.
