Dallas Sowards

Dallas Sowards, 83 of Hurricane , WV passed away on Monday, September 9th after complications from surgery with his family by his side.

He was born to Curtis and Mary Ann Clagg Sowards on April 24th, 1941.

Dallas worked for the WV department of transportation from 1960 to 1998.

He was preceded in death by his 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

Dallas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred, his 5 children, Howard Sowards (Sandy), Harold Sowards, Robert Sowards (Nikki), Margie, and Paul Sowards (Tammy). He has 12 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Funeral service will be  11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane with Wendell Shull officiating.

Visitation with family and friends will be 6-8p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024  at Allen’s.

Burial will follow in Kingery cemetery on Sleepy Creek. Special thanks to Roger and Liz Ketchum and everyone for the comforting words and cards.
