Cheryle Wilson, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Cheryle is survived by her devoted husband of 16 years, David, the love of her life, who cared for her with unwavering compassion day in and day out. She is also survived by her beloved son, Ryan Stuart and his wife Corinne of Morgantown, West Virginia; her cherished daughter, Lorrie Zappitelli and her husband Jim; and her six treasured grandchildren, Karlee Lincoln, Camie, Sofie, Eliza, and Charlotte, who were the joy of her life.
Cheryle lived a life rooted in love, compassion, and service to others. She dedicated her career to healthcare in its many forms, touching countless lives through her work. Her giving spirit extended beyond her profession as she generously volunteered her time as a hospice nurse, offering comfort and dignity to those in need.
She had a deep love for life’s simple and beautiful moments. Cheryle was an avid reader, a passionate gardener who found peace and happiness in her yard, and an enthusiastic traveler who explored and experienced places across the world. Above all, she loved her family fiercely and wholeheartedly—her “people” meant everything to her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care Cheryle received over the past seven months from the many doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals, and hospice staff who supported her with kindness and dignity.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to hospice care in Charleston, West Virginia, in honor of Cheryle’s lifelong commitment to caring for others.
Cheryle will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, strength, and boundless love.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday April 22nd from 3-5pm at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane WV.
