William Paul Rogers, 87 of Hurricane went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 16.
Paul was born and raised in Clay County. After serving in the US Army during the Korean war, he went to work and retired from Union Carbide after 37 years of service. He was very active in the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union, Local 656 and also served as president of the union for several years. After retirement, he drove for Mountaineer Limo Service. Paul was a member of Mt. Salem Methodist Church which he dearly loved. He was well known for the stories he told and his desire to travel enjoying gospel music gatherings.
Paul is survived by his son, Jimmy (Cathy) Rogers, 2 daughters, Carol (Sean) Loring, and Robin (Alan) Whitt. He had 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and the mother of his children and dear friend, Ann Lowe.
Services will be Tuesday November 20. Visitation will be 11-1 and service to begin at 1:oo p.m. at Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Kernen officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Park in Hurricane. In lieu of flowers, Dad’s request was to make donations to Mt. Salem Methodist Church.
