Tressa Martin

Tressa Martin, 87, of Hurricane died July 18, 2018.

Tressa was a loving wife and mother.  Tressa was born April 6, 1931 to Ross and Beulah Chaney.  She was lifelong resident of Hurricane and lived in Victoria, Texas for a few years before returning to Hurricane.  Tressa attended Hurricane High School where she was proudly the Drum Major in the band.  She loved to travel and did so often.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane.  She worked as an Avon Representative, at The Coach Restaurant (high schooler hangout in the 1960’s) and Mother’s Day Out for First Baptist Church. 

Tressa was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Beulah Chaney; her husband, Warner Martin; son, Steven Brent Martin; sister, Nina Fisher; brother, Kenneth Chaney.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister, Mary Davies and her husband Jack of Hurricane; daughter, Sonya K. Martin-Justice and her husband, Kenny of Hurricane; sons, Kevin B. Martin of Hurricane and Gregory A. Martin and his wife, Connie of Culloden, WV; grandchildren, Natalie Martin-Smith and her husband, Dwight Smith of Bedford, VA, Steven Allen Martin of Hurricane, Chris Martin and his wife Megan of Hurricane, Nick Martin of Hurricane, Alex and Connor Lowe of Hurricane; step grandchild, Triston Skyles of Alcoa, TN; great grandchild, Noah Martin; several nieces and nephews.  Also, James Walls, lifelong friend who was there for her to the end. 

Funeral service will be Friday, July 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Losh officiating.  Friends and family may call one hour prior to service.
