Richard “Rick” Smith

Richard Smith ,63, of Hurricane, went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2018, after a sudden illness. 

A graduate of Marshall University and WV Tech, Rick was a retired electrical engineer. He worked at various companies such as Rhône-Poulenc, Union Carbide, DOW,and CDI Engineering throughout his life.  

He is preceded in death by his two younger brothers and second wife, Deborah.

He is survived by his parents, Laura and John, and his three children: Hunter Smith (New York), Carrie Uden (Hurricane) Mary Smith (Columbus, Ohio), and stepdaughter Katie Mullins (Hurricane). Also by his first wife and longtime friend, Cindy Ferguson.

He will be remembered for his analytical mind, giving nature, sharp sense of humor, and a most-admirable work ethic.
