Reiko Dorcas Obituary

Reiko Hoshikawa Dorcas went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2018 after a short illness. She was born on Sept. 10th, 1930 in Kure, Japan where she was raised with three sisters and one brother.

In 1952, she married an American soldier and relocated to Charleston, WV. They soon started a family and raised the 'three greatest joys of her life'; Her three daughters Jeanette, JoAnn and Joyce. For many years, Reiko worked as a seamstress at Silverbrand Clothes and Kelley's Mens Shop in Charleston.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Taro Hoshikawa and two nephews of Kure, Japan; daughters Jeanette Henson, JoAnn (Stacy) Stapleton and Joyce (Ed) Lincoln; grandchildren Ray (Kristi) Henson, Derek (Erin) Lincoln, Jennifer (Michael) Hill, Andrew (Mari) Henson, Lauren (Jonathan) White, and Adam Henson; great grandchildren, Ray, Caroline and Bennett Henson, Jude Lincoln, Lexi and Makayla Hill, Drew, Kai, and Layla Henson, Alaina, Keyan, and Zane White. Reiko is also survived by two of her very best friends Hideko Robinson and Yukiko Crowder.

Reiko was the most selfless, loving, generous person you could ever meet. Everyone who came in contact with her loved her sweet smile, endearing accent, and love for life that was rooted in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved God, her family, friends, and the United States of America. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her love for her country, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
