Mark Edward Casto

Mark Edward Casto of Ray City, GA formerly of Hurricane, WV passed from this life onto his heavenly home on September 5, 2018. Mark was born September 13, 1952 the 2nd of five children of Kenneth (deceased) and Shirley Dawson Casto, Life was slow, easy and quiet in our little town of Hurricane. He had a paper route, wrestled and played Sax in High School, loved baseball (he was a catcher). Tried out for the Cincinnati Reds when he was 16 or 17. They told him to come back when he was older. Besides baseball he enjoyed fishing, playing with the neighbor kids, sled riding and time with friends. (He later fell in love with golf) He worked for a while in a local grocery store. He attended and graduated from Hurricane Schools and grew up and was baptized at 1st Baptist Church.

Mark married Patricia Cooper of Milton November 6, 1970. He joined the National Guard and Rank was E4 and member 150th Armored Cavalry- Cavalry Regiment; their daughter was born in 1973. He left the Guard in 1976. They later came back to WV. and their twin boys were born October 16, 1992.

Mark worked and was manager of several Lowes Stores before retiring to Florida. After a few years they moved to a small farm near Valdosta GA. They love horses and had several even some miniature ones and still do. Mark battled pre-Leukemia and then Leukemia for 1 1/2 years before the disease won. He is with the Lord and no longer in pain! Praise the Lord!

Mark is survived by his loving wife Patricia, daughter Jennifer (Angelo) Martinez, 2 sons Nathanael and Nikolaus, 5 grandchildren, 4 siblings and his Mother.

A celebration of life will be on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 3:00 at the First Baptist Church of Hurricane, Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
