Loeda Jewell Curry

Loeda Jewell Curry was born March 13, 1928 in Hamlin WV and died at the age of 90 on July 6, 2018 at Broadmore Senior Living in Teays Valley WV. Loeda was the daughter of Reverend Homer Curry (1892 – 1978) and Lena Hall Curry (1901 – 1975).  She married Jennings Sumner in 1945 and they were married 39 years until his death in 1984.  Together, they had three children – Patricia Ann Sumner who was born in September 1946 and died during childbirth. David Sumner who was born in March 1949 and is married to Mary.  They live in Tennessee and have two children - Chris who is married to Amy and a daughter Karen.  Chris and Amy live in Ohio and have two children – Lilly and CJ.  Karen lives in Ohio. Jerry Sumner was born in June 1955 and is married Ruth.  They live in North Carolina and have 2 daughters – Meghann and Katelyn.  Meghann lives in Texas.  Katelyn is married to David Reynolds and they have a daughter named Emilia Grace Reynolds. After Jennings passed away, Loeda married Kenneth Wooldridge in 1991.  They lived in Culloden, WV and were married for 27 years. Loeda had several siblings – Mable Curry – 1914 – 2012; William Curry – 1916 – 1998; Quentin Curry – 1920 – 2006; Ernest Edmunds - 1921 – 2000; Christalee Curry   - 1921 – 2005; Paul Curry -1926 – 2010; Reverend Wilson (Buck) Curry – 1930 – 1988; Geneva Curry Hager – 1935 – 1987; Reverend Winford Curry – 1940 – living; Reverend Clifford Curry – 1943 – living; Davie Curry – 1947 – 2007.  Services for Loeda will be Monday, July 9, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane.  Viewing will begin at 11:00 am and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm.  She will be buried in Valley View Cemetery, also in Hurricane, immediately after the funeral service.
