Ernest Lee Dunlap Sr.

Ernest Lee Dunlap, 73, of Hurricane, passed away at CAMC General on 9 March 2019, with his brother and sister-in-law by his side.

Ernie was a distinctively talented musician and song writer, entertaining thousands with his unique ability to play two saxophones in harmony at the same time.  He was a graduate of Hurricane High School, class of 1964.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Corba Dunlap and his parents, James and Betty Dunlap.

He is survived by his son Colonel Ernest Lee Dunlap, Jr., U.S. Army, Fort Eustis, VA; his two granddaughters, Alexis and Sierra; and brother, Bruce (Elizabeth) Dunlap of Charleston.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, 30 March 2019 at the Allen Funeral Home, Main Street, Hurricane, WV with Pastor Jeff Davenport officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  A reception will follow the service at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Hurricane.
