On December 17, 2018, at the age of 91, our precious mom and Mama Dolly McDowell departed this life peacefully at her home where she resided for 74 years.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey McDowell, daughter and son-in-law Pam and Roger Chapman, son-in-law Richard Smith and many beloved pets.

 She is survived by her daughter Nancy Smith, granddaughters Jan Sandridge and Kelli Carroll and her husband Bob. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter Addi Carroll who was the sunshine and love of her life. She is also survived by her good friend Dixie Hodges whose phone calls and visits meant so much.

Dolly wanted everyone to know she gave her life to the Lord and dedicated it to her family. The family would like to thank Kanawha Hospice for their care, especially Susie and Brittney. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Kanawha Hospice 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. Charleston, WV 25387

Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home with Bud Beaver officiating and burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 till 1 prior to the service.
