Delma Bailey

Delma Whited Bailey, 97, of Hurricane passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at home.  She was born May 19, 1921, the daughter of Omar Dale and Bernice Bailey Whited.

She was a member of the First Baptist of Hurricane.  She was affectionately known to those who loved her as Mother, Nanny or Popeye.

In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odis H. Bailey; brothers, Lloyd and John Paul Whited; sisters, Thelma Radcliff and Edith Brown; grandsons, Dale Bailey and Tyler McGehee and son-in-law, Don Allen.

Surviving are son, Gerald “Bill” Bailey; daughters, Jean Allen and Mary McGehee and her husband, Doug McGehee.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Robin Coble, Terry Sims (Mike), Pete Bailey, Todd Bailey, Kendra Prine (Joe), Tammi Chandler (Rick), Mary Ann Allen, Greg Allen (Kelly), Whitney Allen, Wesley Allen (Katie), Kelly Overby (Shane) and Dougie McGehee; 22 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren.

 A private funeral will be held at Allen Funeral Home with Jim McGehee officiating.  Entombment will be in Valley View Memorial Park.
