Carlos G. Bays

Carlos Bays, 84, of Hurricane, W.Va., formerly of Pt. Pleasant, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy (Fizer) Bays.  

Carlos is survived by his wife Bernice Bays; two daughters and sons-in-law: Carla and Jim Coles, and Gina and Jay Cales; four grandchildren: Jami and Daniel Coles, and Luke and Samuel Cales; two great grandchildren: Zander Osborn and Laila Coles.  He is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law: Russell and Jo Bays, Bernard and Donna Bays, and Keith and BeckyBays; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Carolyn and B.G.Boster, Sharon and Jesse Adkins, and Kathy and Allen Messinger, along with sister-in-law and brother-in law Mildred and Farris Burton and sister-in-law Phylis Stewart, and brother-in-law Gary Thompson.

Carlos was retired from Ravenswood Aluminum Company with more than 40 years of employment. He was a member of Teays Valley Baptist Church.  Over the years, Carlos enjoyed hunting, trading, coaching girls’ softballteams, and spending time with family and friends.  He loved his family dearly and they will cherish their memories of him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and volunteers of Hubbard Hospice House West for their end of life care for Carlos.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home with Dr. John D. Smithofficiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery in Hurricane.
