Amanda J Lilly, of Hurricane, passed away unexpectedlyMonday, November 26, 2018, following a sudden illness complicated by an unknown thyroid disorder.
Amanda was born November 2, 1988 in Charleston, WV and raised in Hurricane, WV. She attended Hurricane High School and graduated in 2007. Amanda proudly attended Marshall University, graduating summa cum laude in 2011. She received her Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Marshall’s School of Psychology graduate program. Amanda was a dedicated employee of Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Counseling Center, specializing in the care of young children and adolescents.
Amanda was a beacon of love to those around her. She always smiled. She made the betterment of other’s lives her main priority. Through her professional and personal charity works, she was able to brighten the lives of anyone she met. Amanda was deeply involved in several local charity organizations, primarily the Ghostbusters – West Virginia Division, Garrison Corellia of the 501st Legion, and the Rebel Legion costuming groups. Through her service with the Ghostbusters, Amanda was able to reach numerous people across the globe with her shining personality.
Amanda was proceeded in death by her father, Tim Lilly, and her uncle Alan Lilly. She is survived by the love of her life and partner, Keller Lindsay of Hurricane, WV, her mother Sherry Lilly of St. Albans, WV, her brother Jacob Lilly of Parkersburg, WV, paternal grandparents Karen and Jerry Lilly of Hurricane, WV, maternal grandparents James and Vivian Greene of Nitro, WV, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless “extended family” from charity and costume work.
Due to Amanda’s tireless and selfless works, donations to her favorite charities are requested in lieu of flowers. Donations to the Human Rights Campaign can be made in her name at www.HRC.org. Monetary donations or a new, unwrapped toy can be made in person at the viewing.
A celebration of Amanda’s life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Allen’s Funeral Home in Hurricane, WV, 1 pm to 4 pm, followed by a short Period of Reflection. Members of Amanda’s Cosplay family are requested to attend in costume.
